Received an e-mail the other day about the Classic being held on the 15>17th OCT.
Visit the site www.fujairahclassic.com for more info and registration.I certainly will be putting my boat in and would be nice to see maybe more teams from fishemirates.
regards
Rob

Hi guys,

TD here for the event. if you have any questions regarding the Fujairah Classic you are welcome to contact me directly on bruce@intevents.com
I have a spam blocker on the email but will pick it up if you mention the event in the subject line.

Register now for the tournament via the website www.fujairahclassic.com

Just fax or scan and email your entry and you can sort out the payment at the final skippers briefing the night before on the 14th October at Le Meridien Al Aqah from 5pm. I hope to see a few more boats fishing the tournament. Common chaps lets raise those fish and place Fujairah on the global fishing map.

Keep 'em tight!
Bruce

I have been in contact with Bruce regarding the event and proposed they have a division for all the kayak fishermen as well.

Bruce is pretty keen on the idea as long as we can get at least 5 to 10 anglers together to compete in the comp and there is enough interest shown they are willing to allow the kayakers to fish so if anyone out there is keen could they drop a note on the forum to confirm.

Bruce will hopefully have more info tomorrow regarding the above and if so will post information regarding cost etc...

cheers,
Gareth

Bruce has emailed some info re: kayak division in the comp so are there any chaps that are keen to enter. Beefy, Paul, Richie.....and the rest

Kayak Division:
Entry fee: AED500 per kayak
Launch spot and landing spot: Le Meridien Al Aqah beach in front of the hotel.
Fish need to be at the weigh station before the cut off period as per rules available on www.fujairahclassic.com the fish will need to be registered with a representative of the tournament on landing. All fish will need to be photographed with a time and date stamp on the photo to qualify. Keep in mind that it takes 40 minutes to get to the FIMC from LMAA.

It will be a separate division and we are busy working on prizes at the moment and should have an answer by the start of the press conference on Wednesday 11:30am at LMAA.
Entry must be faxed ASAP to my office or scanned and emailed to me clearly marked “Kayak Division”
Payment can be made at the final registration and skippers meeting on the 14th at LMAA as per timeline.

any queries fire them to bruiser.
hopefully we get enough guys together to fish.

Further to Gareth's post above: I am suggesting launching off the hotel beach but if you guys feel that you will catch more fish launching out of the FIMC, it will actually make my life a lot easier. So let me know.

We are working on prizes at the moment, depending on how many of you enter and pay etc. We need 5 or so to make this viable. I am happy to do it but i need your help. Prizes may be, hand held depth finders, gps, fish finders, Accurate Reels and Rods - so some good stuff and well worth the AED500 entry.

To everyone else - The idea of sport fishing within this region is not going to get off the ground unless we have people supporting the tournaments. Ideally for media coverage and support from the local governments we have to have at least 20 boats fishing an event. In this way we are able to show just how beneficial both tournaments and the sport can be to the region. It is time for people to put up their hands and show their support to something we all love to do. So get on the website, register and send it to me. bruce@intevents.com

We CAN make people sit up and take notice, we just need to commit. Keep 'em Tight and let me knwo if you need anything or any help and I will see what I can do.

Bruce

Hi Bruce

What are the rules for fishing from Kayaks in the reserves along the coast. If we launch from the hotel, we are basically in the reserve, where the authorities are not so keen on people fishing. The paddle is pretty far to get out of it.....very keen to enter the kayak comp, but just a little concerned about having all my stuff confiscated.....:)

Bovril - Launch will be from the FIMC. I am waiting for numbers from Kayaks but the idea is for you guys to fish 2 days - Fri/Sat and have a skippers briefing Thursday night at the hotel from 7pm. All Kayakers need to register and clearly mark Kayak division on registration ASAP. As i said final registration at the hotel from 7pm Thursday night (Everyone fishing Kayaks needs to attend) as we will discuss species, weights etc.

If anyone has any questions please call me on +968 95761453

Hi all, has anyone fished the inshore waters off the club? I assume we would have have a different list of eligible species than the boat fishermen.
Iguess the biggest concern is the possible unnecessary killing of fish if we catch another of the same species that we have already kept, if you get what I mean. If it could be based on photographic evidence it would solve that issue. Also we can only keep so many fish on our kayaks. Any thoughts fellas? cheers, Dave.

Dave - all of these points can be discussed on the 15th if everyone is in agreement. As this would be the first time the event would run it would be a softly softly approach. The most important thing is that everyone register. Once that is complete and I know that we have enough competitors to run a kayak division (which needs to happen this week) then we can reach certain decisions.

My current feeling is this: Launch site: FIMC / Fish where you want (except in restricted areas) / Same limits apply as normal division however a phot time and date stamp catch and release method would be great! I would also recommend keeping your best fish (but only one) for promotional purposes. So it doesnt go to waste we can always get the hotel to cook it that evening and serve it to guests so that everyone learns appreciation for the sport and fish in general. any other questions email directly (email above) or call me directly (number above) and we can discuss.

Chaps the most important thing is to make suer a Kayak division happens so send me your registrations. Keep 'em Tight!

Bruce

Attention all Kayakers - I have today confirmed the first prize of a Hobie fishing Kayak for the Kayak division for the tournament. Alas there is only one entrant and that is Gareth. There should also be some decent rods and reels on the go as well, but you are going to need to register etc.

Keep 'em Tight
Bruce
