OK - I'm going to commit to a date a plan and really hope that some of you will be able to come along.

My plan is to arrive in Khasab around midday on Thursday 3rd December. I'm going to pre-book a boat to take camping gear and water/supplies to a pre-agreed beach approx. 5km from Khasab. I'll probably go with the boat guy to make sure I know where he's dropped it. I think i'd rather pay the premium for an organised company to take the gear rather than leave it to chance and haggling with a local fisherman in Arabic (especially as I dont speak Arabic).

Ive seen a few beaches on googlearth that look good - there are some small isolated fishing villages as well but ive been told the residents dont take too kindly to people camping on their land (anyone seend Deliverance?!)

Then its an afternoon paddle to the beach and set up camp Thursday afternoon. I intend to stay both Thursday and Friday night - with gear collected and paddling back to Khasab on Saturday afternoon.

If you dont want to go for the full 2 days you could always make your own way and bring your gear on the kayak - say if you just wanted to come on Friday.

Hope that some of you will be joining me - I've no idea if we'll catch fish, but I reckon completely getting away from it all and the scenery will make it worthwile at least. Feel free to call me on 050 8759 487

My parents are coming over and will be here then, will look into arranging a family Musandam trip to one of the hotels and see if I can escape on the yak for a day or two
