Leng,

What can I say but the same as I always say when I see your rods but ...... beautiful work once again.

I still have to place my order for a perfect all round boat rod? Maybe with that spiral wrap we talked about :) Only going to use a bog standard Shimano Bait Runner on it as I am a tight git and am not willing to spend 3k on a reel at the moment :)

As the chancellor is coming back at the end of October you might have time to make it for me

Let me know anyway.

By the way get some leaflets together and I will put them in the shop if you fancy selling some of your custom made rods?

Hu..hu..huuuuuu! :D

I got a popping rod......!

Tacklebloke - I am really itchin to go popping NOW!

Just can't wait to match it with one of the Stellas. Which one do you recommend......a 10k or a 20k?

I would think that the 10k is better suited to popping BUT during our last trip with Ocean Active, all the popping rods were matched to 20k Stellas!!!!

Also quite surprised that the distributor of ACCCURATE is not using any of of the reels!!!!! Any logical explanations??? :?:

Ciao!!!!!!

p/s back for Eid Vacation in Brunei now.......will return on 06Oct.

Hey Jigwrex,

I think the only reason they don't use their own Accurates is they are too expensive :) Only exlanation I can come up with?

IMHO, they should start using the stuff they are distributing to promote them and to gain public confidence on their products.

Ian

I will built one for you when you are ready.
There is no one rod for everything fishing.
Like a one size fits all thing.

Different folks, Different Strokes
Different rod are for different specific purposes.
That's why the range goes on and....with very different configuration on every need..

Ultralight spinning rod
Light spinning rod
Baitcasting rod
Surf rod
Boat rod
Trolling rod
Jigging rod
Popping rod
Noodle rod
Livebait rod
Conventional rods or overhead guides
Spiral rods (baitcasting, boat, jigging and others)
and the list goes on.

 What I can do is to highlight their feature by taking photos and have it posted in Tackle Review section and discussing the main features including any specific uses, bring some understanding to potential buyers, when I complete the rod. A little information on the compatible reel that can go with it.

This will provide user with more information in getting the specific type of rod he intends. So far, what I noted in the fishing arena here is that anglers either overkill with the use of wrong type of rod and a line far more than required for fishing the juveniles around the edge.

Or using a 40-100lbs with 80TW for trolling in the gulf, sorry to say there is little chance of a 80kg marlin in our local waters, and battling the weight of the gears even before striking a fish is already a chore.

Fishing should be fun and enjoying, but a chore of lifting heavy gears for a 5kg fish, would be grossly overkill. Some guys like it that way, it is always a challenging questions, but it is a matter of YOUR choice if you want to call yourself a sports fisherman in that sense.

This general information will provide anglers with more choices to his fishing, finding the most comfortable tackle, on the other hand I will try and ask some dealers to provide a wider variety of fishing gears for our little local fishing community here.

Give the fish a chance, fish light!

I Aagree totally. When I first started fishing in the Gulf and I had very little experiance of salt water fishing I went our and bought some rods from Knotika .... Penn 30-50lb up-stands and a 30-50 trolling rod. What with 40lb line and the like :(

Now I have a bit more experiance with what fish are here and I am also now primarily fishing from the East Coast I have stepped down dramatically to lighter rods, smaller reels and lighter tackle.

I have just bought a VS 165g rod which I am in using as a general all rounder. It is a jigging rod but what I like about it is that it is more or less a good little all round rod. As I am manily boat fishing I don't need to cast too far so its perfect. I can also troll with it, bottom fish and jig if required. Very nice rod indeed.

But yeah lets get together and go through it and see what comes out the other end :)

Very nice work! Where do you get your blanks and accessories?

I used to make my own rods when I was young and broke! Often I would buy old ones from garage sales when rods used to be good and redo them all.

Hi Mick

I do carry several brands, matagi, JM and calstar, g-loomis.
I do not have the entire range but mainly jigging, trolling, boat, ultralight, light spinning, recently completed a GT kevlar popping 70lbs, surf rods, and one or two piece of odd spiral rods.

For accessories, I do carry a good range of fuji stuff, mainly SIC guides, reelseats, aftco guides, and epoxies, plus all the necessary to complete the desired rod, plus all necessary rod building stuff to complete.

On the other hand, you can also pop by barracuda tackle to see the range they have, quite afew stuff they have.
